Few of the materials available on the market possess entirely suitable aeration and water retention qualities. In fact, only certain white Sphagnum peat and some mixtures of different materials are capable of fulfilling this physical role for the plant. There are no completely satisfactory alternatives to peat, in terms of quality and availability, and peat remains indispensable for soil-less horticultural production systems. Nevertheless, some complementary products can be added to peat, especially to improve growing medium aeration, and this contributes indirectly to reducing the use of peat in horticulture.
We offer all types of Sphagnum milled and sod peat moss directly from Baltic region (Europe) to professional growers, landscape specialists, farmers, retailers and custom growing media manufacturers worldwide. We do also produce peat based substrates according to individual customer needs for professional and hobby market.
Separated peat fractions
Coarse peat fraction
Peat has favourable chemical and physical characteristics:
*A low pH which enables the production of growing media which meet the specific needs of the plant, by adjusting the pH by adding lime.
*Low nutrient level: bog-peat hardly contains any nutrients, which allows them to be added to obtain the specific nutrient levels required in the growing medium during the production process.
*Peat also permits the preparation of specific types of growing media from either milled-peat or sod peat. Peat-based growing media provide sufficient air and structural stability that ensure the physical properties of the growing medium for several years.
*Peat products are available in large volumes.
*Peat is very uniform and constant in its properties. The circumstances under which peat is formed, ensures phyto-sanitary clean products.
*As from its nature of development peat contains no organisms which can be harmful for crops as long peat is not from degraded sources.

Fine fraction (0-4, 0-7) peat substrates are ideal for sowing seeds, growing various vegetables and flower seedlings in seedling trays. It is also the most appropriate fraction for installing sports stadiums, golf courses, lawns, house holdings, and public recreation areas. Company’s equipment allows to adjust the outer dimensions of the extracted fractions within the range of 4–10 mm.
Medium fraction (0-20; 0-40) of peat is the most versatile and most favoured by customers who use it for production of universal growing media. These fractions or mixtures thereof are widely used with other peat fractions in the cultivation of vegetables, indoor and outdoor flower cultivation in trays, pots, greenhouses, as well as for soil improvement.
Coarse fraction (7-20; 20-40) is highly porous, has excellent air permeability and water absorption and drainage properties. These fractions are used as the basic components for the production of the highest quality substrates. They are also widely used in the alteration of large pot flowers, berry plants, conifers, ornamental plants and large hanging pots, containers. It is also used for mulching roses, shrubs and other ornamental plants, planting trees and shrubs and recommended to mix with natural soil.
